The Blacktor

Cory D. Gibson Sr. is an accomplished, classically trained actor and vocalist, and a working artist residing in Connecticut. He holds a B.F.A. in Musical Theatre from Otterbein University.

The Blacktor is a personal project inspired by his move from New York City to Fairfield County, Connecticut — intended to transform the way people see themselves and each other. It uses theatre and performance art to build self-aware, culturally honest human beings and inspire action, welcoming everyone to the table, challenging everyone at it, and rooting all of it within the communities of Connecticut.

Cory is a method actor who allows each character to inhabit a spiritual space through negotiations of shared breathing, delivering an undeniably authentic performance to every audience. Having appeared in numerous national tours and Off-Broadway productions, Cory is a proud member of Actors' Equity Association.
